Sometimes we need to perform a factory reset to our phone if it does not work properly, Motorola Photon 4G owners who don’t know this tip can check our tutorial below.

To Perform A Factory Data Reset on Motorola Photon 4G

Step 1. From the screen of your Motorola Photon 4G, press the Menu button.

Step 2. Tap Settings.

Step 3. Scroll down and tap Privacy.

Step 4. Tap Factory Data Reset.

Step 5. Check Erase internal storage if you would like to erase all the data on the phone internal storage such as applications, music, movies or photos.

Step 6. Tap Reset Phone.

Or you can use the external keys to do reset your phone.

Perform a factory reset using Motorola Photon 4G external keys

If you can not navigate through the menu to perform a factory data reset, you can follow the steps showed below:

Step 1. Power off your Motorola Photon 4G.

Step 2. Press and hold volume down button.

Step 3. Press power button.

Step 4. Your Motorola Photon 4G sreen will come up with “Fastboot”, press Vol down key to cycle through choices until you get “Android Recovery”.

Step 5. Press Vol up key.

Step 6. Wait for the “triangle ! / Android” screen.

Step 7. Press both Vol up and Vol down key simultaneously. A menu will come up now.

Step 8. Tap on Vol down key until “wipe data/factory reset” is highlighted, and tap Power key.

Step 9. Another Confirmation screen will come. Tap on Vol down key until coming to Yes and tap Power key

Step 10. After userdata is cleared, the “reboot system now” option will be highlighted by Default.

Step 11. Tap Power key, your Motorola Photon 4G will reboot to initial setup screen.

Important Notes:

1. It is highly recommended you use the above factory reset using the settings. Making a mistake using the factory reset using external key method could have very bad consequences.

2. Factory Data Reset is a tool used to remove everything that was imported, added or installed on the device. So do remember to back up the important date before this reset!
